ELAC Alumni Golf Tournament Generates Nearly $20,000 for Student Support

WHITTIER, CA – The East Los Angeles College Alumni Association celebrated tremendous success at its second annual Master of the Green Golf Tournament on July 11, 2025, at California Country Club. The event united alumni, community leaders, and friends of ELAC for an impactful day of golf and fundraising, raising $19,516 for student scholarships and programs.
The tournament represents a significant milestone in the Alumni Association's mission to strengthen alumni connections while generating essential funding for scholarships, student engagement programs, and community outreach initiatives.
"We were overjoyed by the incredible turnout and energy at this year's tournament," said Reyna Valadez, President of the ELAC Alumni Association. "The generosity and spirit of our alumni and supporters make events like this possible. Every dollar raised represents a step closer to creating more opportunities for ELAC students, and we couldn't be more thankful."
The tournament featured a comprehensive day of activities beyond golf, including a putting contest, hole-in-one challenge, and diverse raffle prizes. Local vendors contributed to the festive atmosphere, while the day concluded with a post-tournament banquet and silent auction where guests shared stories and celebrated their shared commitment to supporting students.
"The overwhelming support we received from participants, volunteers, and friends of ELAC speaks volumes about the pride our community feels," said Emiliano Sauceda, Vice President of the ELAC Alumni Association and Chair of the 2025 Golf Tournament Planning Committee. "We are building something meaningful—a legacy of support that will benefit students for years to come."
The Master of the Green Golf Tournament has established itself as a signature event for the ELAC Alumni Association, serving as both a fundraising mechanism and a powerful demonstration of the Husky community's unity and dedication to supporting future students.
"The ELAC Alumni Association's Master of the Green Golf Tournament is more than just a day on the green—it's a powerful reminder of the lifelong bonds formed here and the impact our alumni continue to make," said Dr. Monte Perez, ELAC Interim President. "We are proud to bring together past and present members of our college community to support student success and celebrate our shared legacy."
The ELAC Alumni Association continues to focus on strengthening alumni engagement, expanding student opportunities, and building a culture of philanthropy within the college community.
